Dr. Nagaraj S completed his graduation from Dr. BR Ambedkar Medical College, Bangalore, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. He completed his post-graduation from CSI Holdsworth Memorial (Mission) Hospital, Mysore, affiliated to the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. Subsequently, he underwent Rheumatology training at PD Hinduja Hospital and Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai.
Rheumatology is a super-speciality subject in medical sciences. It deals with connective tissue diseases (also called as collagen vascular diseases). Some of the common connective tissue diseases are rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and vasculitis. These diseases are serious in nature and can occur in both adults and children. Patients with rheumatic diseases have symptoms and complaints in the form of – joint pains, joint swelling, back pain, neck pain, generalized body pains, knee pain and swelling, hand joint swelling, fever, loss of weight, loss of appetite etc.
